Zero - Trieste

Created for an exhibition by Zero, this poster reinterprets the distinctive decorative motifs of the Coppedè district in Rome, a neighborhood celebrated for its eclectic blend of Liberty, Art Deco, and medieval-inspired architecture. Geometric patterns, ornamental textures, and symbolic details from the buildings are translated here into a generative typography, where letters emerge from layered shapes and rhythmic structures.
From this visual research, a modular typeface was developed, expanding the poster’s graphic language into a usable system that reflects the intricate and fantastical spirit of Coppedè. Architecture becomes pattern, and pattern becomes type.
