This project is a mini-identity developed for Cinema Troisi on the occasion of a six-month retrospective dedicated to the films of Studio Ghibli. The visual language draws inspiration from the whimsical critters that populate Hayao Miyazaki’s worlds, reimagined through a series of bespoke illustrations. A custom typeface was designed with swelling, inflated shapes, echoing the way characters and objects in Miyazaki’s films often expand and breathe with life.
Each month of the program was distinguished by a dedicated color code, creating a subtle rhythm and variation across the full series. To complement the printed and digital materials, I also designed an animated opening sequence that was screened before every film, introducing the audience to the program’s playful and immersive atmosphere.
